Moon Over Mountwood - June 3-4

Moon Over Mountwood Fishing Festival is an event that the whole family can enjoy.   This event is a park sponsored fishing tournament that will let the entire family get involved in the outdoors by displaying their fishing skills and abilities. The kid’s fish first, starting on Friday afternoon and ending Friday evening, trying their luck at catching a bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish or maybe even a tiger musky.  The adult divisions will start after the kid’s awards ceremony and will continue throughout the night into early Saturday morning.  Bring your boat and trolling motor to fish from the lake or set up lawn chairs along the bank for a relaxing evening of fishing. 

Awards will be given to the longest fish in each division and participation awards will be given to everyone registered in the children’s division.  Each adult participant must have a current West Virginia fishing License and all WVDNR regulations have to be followed during the Derby.

This year’s Moon Over Mountwood Fishing Festival will be held on June 3-4 at the Marina Parking Lot.  Registration starts at 5pm on Friday, June 3

Ages 0-6 (Free)
Ages 7-15 ($10)
Fishing for Ages 0-15 division will start at 5pm and ends 9pm. Awards will
be given out at 9:15pm. Each child will be given a trophy with their first fish while supplies last.


Ages 16+($15)
Ages 16+ will start fishing at 9pm.
ALL fish must be checked in by 7am Saturday.
Awards will be given out at 7:15am.

You must be present to claim awards.

Fish will be measured by length to determine winners. This is not a total length competition the longest 3 fish in each group will be awarded prizes. The rules, regulations and registration forms are on the website if you need more information
