We believe in community-based programs, and  we encourage clubs, businesses, families or groups of friends to volunteer at Mountwood Park.

Friends of Mountwood Park Inc. is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and protecting this Wood County treasure.

FRIENDS signature project with Mountwood Park is protecting the beautiful scenery of this area for future generations and is critical to all that love the Park and the historic significance of this area once called Volcano.

Through this program we disseminate information concerning Mountwood Park and its activities; maintain the cleanliness and litter free; advance and upgrade the horticulture of the park; maintain and restore that hold historic or artistic value; promote educational and recreational programs.

We invite you to join FRIENDS and become a part of the vital movement to preserve and protect Mountwood Park. FRIENDS is one of the fastest growing FRIENDS groups in West Virginia; at a time when many nonprofits are facing economic down turns FRIENDS is GROWING in its service to Mountwood Park and as an organization.
